ACARD AEC-6897 series is a 4-channel IDE RAID controller. The series includes AEC-6897LP (low profile edition), which can support the standard 1U server. AEC-6897 is compatible with PCI-X interface on the motherboard for server. Its 4 independent channels can connect up to 8 hard drives. Through the 48-bit LBA technology, it can support a big hard drive of 137GB, too. Its RAID levels have 0, 1, 0+1, 5, JBOD and normal modes. It can provide storage strength to workstations and computers in the server class. Besides, if it is used together with ACARD ACS-4600 Tray, it will support hot swap, and rebuild data automatically. The Windows-based RAID Utility is a GUI tool easy for you to manage the RAID subsystem. Thus, the maintenance of server will be more convenient.
AEC-6897 fully supports the 64-bit PCI specification, including the instruction set of Bus Master, to enhance the transfer performance. In addition, it supports the Scatter/Gather function to increase the multitasking of OS.
